The philosophy of Jin Shin Jyutsu


This is a very old art of harmonisation of the vitality in the body. Originated by inner wisdom and passed on by word of mouth from one generation to the following, this art almost fell into oblivion. At the beginning of the 20th century it was revitalised by master Jiro Murai from Japan. After being healed from a life-threatening disease, Jiro Murai devoted the rest of his life to the investigation and development of JSJ. The deeper insight and the perception he got from the study of different sources (e.g. Kojiki, book of the old things) and personal experience, he put across to Mary Burmeister, who brought JSJ into the USA in the fifties. At the beginning of the sixties, Mary Burmeister started to teach this art and nowadays thousands of people all over the world study and practise JSJ. The acquisition of JSJ leads us to self-study and self-help. During this process we learn how to become aware of the wisdom of our body, learn to understand the message and to regain our balance.

This art is also successful with animals, especially as an addition to academic and naturopathic treatment. It is also quite suitable for the correction of challenging behaviour and for the consolidation of the relationship between human and animal.

Jin Shin Jyutsu can be used as a self-help or by a trained practitioner. One meeting of JSJ lasts approximately one hour. There is no massage, manipulation of muscles or use of medicine or other substances. It is a gentle kind of art which is performed via fingertips (on the clothes). The fingertips are placed on the so called safety-locks in order to harmonise the flow of energy. This reduces stress and tensions, which come up in our daily lives. The art of JSJ is for all of those, humans and animals a like, who suffer from stress and health disorders and those, who would like to maintain their health, harmony and well-being actively. The art of JSJ is easy and powerful and in easy reach for everybody.

Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance into the energetic system of our bodies and stimulates our health and well-being. Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art of life and strengthens the inner self-healing process. It is a valuable and significant amendment to traditional healing methods because it provokes a deep relaxation and reduces the effects of stress. JSJ works with 26 so called safety-locks within the energy flow which brings life into the body. In case one or more of these energetic lines are blocked, the result is a stagnation of the flow of energy into the respective zone and an energetic disorder. To hold a combination of safety-locks can rebalance you emotionally, physically and spiritually.
